Selling Gold On The Internet
Selling Gold On The Internet
The dollar value of gold is in the upward swing and the fastest way you can tap revenue today is to sell your unwanted gold items to a reliable gold buyer. There are many sources open to you to sell gold items but care needs to be taken in order to avoid being scammed or offered an amount that falls below what you should get for selling your out-of-style or unwanted gold jewelry.
The options you have if you want to sell gold items: If you want to sell gold for cash now, you have the option of selling at the pawn shops which is not advisable at all because gold buyers at pawn shops are merely middlemen who trick people with instant cash without offering you much money only to turn around and resell the same gold items for huge profits.
You also have the option of selling your old gold jewelry at the jewelry store which is proper though they will not offer you much money if the gold item is broken or if it is out of date. Selling gold on the internet is another option you have if you are looking to sell gold items to a reliable source for the most dollar value than what pawn or jewelry shops can offer. Online gold buyers are able to offer higher payout for your gold jewelry than pawn shops or jewelry stores because their overhead and advertising costs are usually low.
]]>
Why online buyers are your best options: If you are looking to sell gold items, online gold buyers are able to offer you a high percentage of the actual value of your gold jewelry. While a pawn shop will just display your gold item and hope to sell at a higher price, internet gold buyers will melt the metal down completely and will pay for the actual value of your gold items based on the weight, the purity of your gold, and the market price as at the time you mailed in your gold jewelry.
However, despite the fact that online gold buyers are the best choice if you want to sell gold jewelry and get the most cash return in record time, you need to be careful about your choice. There are definitely scammers on the internet who parade themselves as gold buyers and some companies whose payout represent a small percentage of the worth of the gold items. However, there are genuine internet gold buyers some of whom have been in business for a long time and also own their refineries. These are the right choice of internet gold buyers if you are looking to sell your gold items.
How to select reliable online gold buyers: In order to make sure you sell your unwanted gold jewelry to a reliable source, here are some tips for you to follow:
1.Do online research for gold buyers accredited by Better Business Bureau. These accredited companies offer guarantee that your gold items will not be lost in transit during shipping.
2.Sell your gold items to online buyers whose websites have good reviews or recommended personally by friends as credible and trusted.
3.Check for the phone number and the physical address of your preferred online gold buyers. Credible gold buyers have their phone numbers and addresses listed on their sites.
In addition, sell gold items to your selected online buyers after you must have evaluated the dollar worth of your jewelry.

Susan asks…
What is the difference between white gold and normal gold?
I hear people talk about white gold and gold with reference to jewelry, is there really anything such as white gold and how is it made.

Gold Smith answers:
There are many colors of gold nominally in jewelry. Yellow gold is most common. There are two main types of 18 karat yellow gold. In the USA, 2N is the one used. It has 75% gold, 15% silver and 10% copper. In Europe, 3N is used with 75% gold, 13% silver and 12% copper. White gold has 75% gold, 16% palladium and 9% silver, so it is costlier than yellow gold. It has a white tone. Like palladium, platinum, silver or steel. It takes an expert to distinguish white gold and these other metals listed. There are also rose (pink), red, green, grey and blue gold. They have different mixtures of metals in them.

Sandy asks…
Where can I rest my chest for the price of a gold coin?

Gold Smith answers:
Try a coffin

Sandra asks…
With gold high is it better to hold onto a low mintage gold coin, like the 2008 W Gold Eagle or sell now?
I am wondering if the price say for the quarter ounce Gold Eagle at $1,000 since it is the lowest mintage or is the high price of gold keeping it that high and when gold drops the price will reflect this.

Gold Smith answers:
I can not seem to find in any price guides the mintage figure for the 2008W 1/4 ounce gold eagle. I do know there are 2 of them one is a proof and the other is what the mint calls burnished. The regular uncirculated one has no mint mark. The high cost of gold has driven the value up of all gold coins even common ones. Most modern gold coins except some proof collector ones go up and down due to the value of gold, the proof cost more so have a collector value, there is also a lot less of them. I really don’t expect gold to take a real nose dive this year. The economy is still in real bad shape and people are buying gold as a hedge on inflation as well it is a good investment right now. You need to keep an eye on the market which is easy for you can get the spot price of gold on line. It would not hurt to check with coin dealers to see what they are paying, for they do not pay spot usually. You can get an idea of the market from the dealers. I would not sell now but that is only my opinion, that could change tomorrow if I see the market changing.

John asks…
How do you find the current market price of gold?
And what is the premium you have to pay for gold coins? And where/how do most people buy gold coins?

Gold Smith answers:
Http://www.kitco.com/market/ for prices on gold market
Gold bullion coins (recently minted) will be about 3-10% above that. Smaller coins like 1/10 ounce have a larger markup than 1 ounce coins. Older coins value depends somewhat on their gold content and also on their rarity (how many minted, how many known to still exist) and on their condition (how much wear and tear)

Gold Smith answers:
As you know selling just about anything these days is very competitive so I suggest you have a look at setting up your own 100% free online store where you can refer people to on a regular basis. Here you can get your free selling store:
http://www.search-the-world.com/auctions/register.php
Once you’ve signed up get started by filling your store with as much content as you can. Add photos, descriptions, prices and just use the “Buy Now” selling option rather than the Auction selling feature. To be successful in selling you’ll need to have a large variety and selection for buyers to choose from. Concentrate on having at least 200 to 300 items listed on your selling site and keep adding as much choice as you can.
You should know these days the average shop front store would have several hundred thousand dollars of stock in their range just to make a weekly living. Most successful online stores have a huge variety and quantity to get the same.
There are some exceptions but I wont go into them for now.
You’ll never have to pay any fees unlike many other sites. Use the url from your own store and advertise it as much as you can throughout the Internet and through other sources like in print media occasionally. You can’t expect others to do this for you.
Most selling businesses have to do their own advertising to get the best results. Its a free selling site so you have nothing to lose by trying. Don’t ever expect sales without constant advertising on your own part. Then you also need to have what people want in stock, choice and the right price.

I am trying to sell some of my gold. I would like to know how much 3 oz of gold would bring me. I don’t want anyone lying to me so I figured I would ask here first. Thanks

As of yesterday, the price of gold was $932.50/oz. Of course, no dealer will actually pay this price at the retail level, but it at least establishes the approximate range to be expected.

Carol asks…
Do you think there will be a minute of silence at the Gold Cup Final?
As some of you may know, Costa Rican defender, Dennis Marshall, died a few hours ago in a car crash. He played in this Gold Cup and even scored a goal I think.

Gold Smith answers:
Yeah, I heard about his death just a little while ago. I’m going to the final and I’m pretty sure they will have a minute of silence. I didn’t see him play much, but from what I did see, he was a good player. He scored the equalizer against Honduras in the quarter-finals. RIP Dennis Marshall. He was a good player and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Mark asks…
gold cup???
can someone please explain to me the rules for the game. i want to get a better understanding… what does it take to qualify into the quarterfinals? how many teams from each group (A,B,C) can qualify? and what happens if there’s a three way tie?

Gold Smith answers:
The twelve teams that qualified have been divided into three groups. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage along with the best two of the third-place teams, filling out the knockout field of eight.
If teams are level on points, they are ranked on the following criteria in order:
1. Greatest total goal difference in the three group matches
2. Greatest number of goals scored in the three group matches
3. If teams remained level after those criteria, a mini-group would be formed from those teams, who would be ranked on:
1. Most points earned in matches against other teams in the tie
2. Greatest goal difference in matches against other teams in the tie
3. Greatest number of goals scored in matches against other teams in the tie

William asks…
Why did Mexico lose the Gold Cup final today against the US of A?
They played better than any other games in the Gold Cup, and yet they lost. They could have lost 4-1 if not because of the two posts.

Gold Smith answers:
Christian is right and I agree with him. After Donovan scored the penalty kick, the US gained some momentum and Mexico seemed to have lost some of their composure. Mexico did overall play a good game and they do deserve credit for that. This was probably their best game of the Gold Cup. They did well and should be proud of themselves. I agree that they could have lost by 4-1 if not for the post and the cross bar. They still played a great game.

Your Questions About Selling Gold

Michael asks…
why arent more people buying silver these days?!?!?
Right now, silver is more rare than gold, which means….that it will soon be gone in a few years, so the price will just explode to what gold is now most likely. which is $1242.00 for generic bullion per ounce, and silver is $19.87 per ounce right now. So why the he11 aren’t people trying to stock up as much of this easy money as possible?!?!?! I’m 16 and I have over 20 ounces of silver, and various small gold coins, and I plan on getting another job to buy even more before the price goes up too much

Gold Smith answers:
Why? Obviously because “more people” don’t share your opinion.

Joseph asks…
Is it too late to save the “VALUE” of the American dollar?
Ron Paul wants to again back the dollar with Gold/Silver as mandated in the constitution.
According to this report there is approximately 157,000 metric tonnes of Gold in existence. {1 tonne is 32,150 ounces}
http://www.plata.com.mx/plata/plata/comHSP78a.htm
So, there is plenty of Gold available despite what critics say. Of course the price per ounce may sky-rocket until an equalibrium is reached.
[edit] If the value of the dollar goes down,,,PRICES on everything go up because it takes more dollars to buy things, it’s commonly called ‘Inflation’!

Gold Smith answers:
Actually the Libertarian philosophy is normally associated with the dollar on the gold standard. I am a Libertarian and I agree with doing it. Generally, Democrats do not want the gold standard as it really limits government spending and printing money

Sandra asks…
The Morgan silver dollar has a mass of 26.73 g. By law, it was required to contain 90% silver,?

how to solve this? thanks!

Gold Smith answers:
26.73*0.9*1.18/31.1 = $0.913

Your Questions About Selling Gold

Paul asks…
How much would I price a real silver ring for?
It’s a silver band that shapes into a heart in the middle. I’m trying to sell it for a reasonable price without getting ripped off. So if you could help that would be awesome. Thank you!
I know that the person who bought it spent a good amount on it, along with another ring and a necklace which all three together added up to 200$, hopefully this will help to price it.

Gold Smith answers:
A sterling silver ring can be as little as $2-$3 or $50 depending on the amount of hand work and who made it. A Tiffany or David Yurman silver ring can be several hundred dollars

Lizzie asks…

Nancy asks…
What influences the price of silver?
& the relationship with the price of silver and gold, etc. what r the major variables in determining the price of silver, and how reliable each one is.

Gold Smith answers:
Manufacturing will influence the price of gold and silver, as they are used extensivly in electronics and other goods. But what influences it the most are the commodities markets. People buy silver and gold in many different ways ranging from the material itself to certificates of deposit promising you that it has been set aside as yours. The basic rules of supply and demand are at work here. Also speculators will influence the price greatly by buying up large quantities so it looks like there is a run on it and selling high. Google “the Hunt brothers” of the 80s they tried to buy and hoard all the silver… Interesting story.
